ANNUAL GENERAL MEETING
Calling Notice for the William Cookworthy Museum Society Annual General Meeting on Tuesday 26 March 2024 at 3.30pm.
EASTER TREASURE HUNT
A FREE trail to find historic ‘treasures’ (provided by the Museum) hidden in shop windows throughout the town. 30 March – 13 April.

TALK ON LAND GIRLS : 20 APRIL
An exciting talk about our new exhibition ‘Six Weeks To Go’ by Becks Pearson on Saturday 20 April at Dodbrooke Parish Hall. 6.30 – 9.00pm.
MUSEUM TEA PARTY : 8 MAY
A special tea party to celebrate 80 years since WW2 (and on VE day itself). Come to meet the Mayor of Kingsbridge, share your memories and enjoy a slice of home-made cake. 1.30 – 3.30pm.
FAMILY DAY : 30 MAY
Come and explore the Museum. Children’s activities with the very popular Flotsam the Fool together with craft demonstrations. FREE entry for children and only £1.00 for adults.
KATIE HARRIS MUSIC : 22 JUNE
Katie Harris is a multi-tasking singer, piano, dulcimer and accordion player. Her sound has been described as ‘earthy, spine tingling English Folk’. Tickets £12.50 each to include ploughman’s platter.
THE STORYTELLER : 25 JULY – 29 AUGUST
Local author, Ann Bentley, will be coming to the Museum on Thursday mornings (25 July, 8, 15, 22 and 29 August – sorry NOT 1 August) to be a ‘storyteller’ to children (and adults too)!
NATIONAL TRUST CREAM TEA : 31 JULY
A joint venture with the National Trust. Join us for a Cream Tea in the Walled Garden. Wednesday 31 July. 2.30 – 4.00pm. £6 includes cream tea PLUS entry to the Museum. All welcome.
KINGSBRIDGE SHOW : 7 SEPTEMBER
The Museum will be appearing at this year’s Kingsbridge Show with a display of interesting exhibits (plus a tricky quiz) linked to our current exhibitions – in the Country Scene tent. Come and see us there!
TALK ON VICTORIAN SAMPLERS : 18 OCTOBER
A Stitch in Time: A presentation of Victorian samplers (including some from the Cookworthy Museum collection) by Chris Stephens, author “Sampleri Cymreig : Welsh Samplers”) on Friday 18 October at Dodbrooke Hall.
FIENDISH QUIZ & PASTY SUPPER : 2 NOVEMBER
A fun evening with a challenging walkabout quiz. Tickets are £12.50 each, which includes quiz, pasty (veggie option available) and your first drink. Max. team size 6. Tickets must be purchased in advance from the Museum.
