KINGSBRIDGE 1939-1945 : THE IMAGE AND THE PLACE

A photographic exhibition commemorating World War 2 and the 80th anniversary of Victory in Europe.

Working in collaboration with Kingsbridge Sixth Form College Students. Funded by Arts Council, England. In the Duncombe Room.

SIX WEEKS TO GO

This fascinating exhibition is about life in the South Hams during World War 2 as American troops evacuated whole villages – including Slapton and Blackawton – to enable them to partake in D-Day preparations. In the Lorenz Room.

FAMILY DAY : 10 APRIL

Come to the Museum for a super fun day out for all the family. FREE entry for children & only £1.00 for adults. 10.30am-4.00pm.

QUIZ AT THE CREEKS : 22 MAY

A smashing quiz hosted at the Creek’s End pub in aid of the Museum. Starts 8.00pm. £2 per person. Teams of six. See you there!

MUSIC EVENING : 28 JUNE

A super evening of easy jazz with the Salcombe Jazz Trio. 6.00pm-9.00pm. Tickets £12.50 each to include cheese ploughman’s supper, cash bar and raffle.

METAL DETECTION : 16 JULY

Event hosted by U3A Local History Group. Exhibition & Talk on Metal Detection: Historical Finds Near and Far by Jonny Christmas and Tom Pisarek. 10.30am.

NT CREAM TEA : 30 JULY

Come and enjoy a delicious cream tea in our pretty walled garden. A joint venture with the National Trust.

LOST TO THE SEA : 10 OCTOBER

A talk by author Lisa Woollett exploring communities lost to the sea (including Hallsands). Dodbrooke Hall 6.00pm (doors open 5.30pm). Tickets £5.00.

QUIZ & PASTY NIGHT : 1 NOVEMBER

Our fun ‘walkabout quiz’ taking you from room to room at the Museum. Tickets £10 per person (includes meat or veggie pasty) should be booked in advance from the Museum. Cash bar. Commences 7.00pm.
