EXHIBITION – SIX WEEKS TO GO

Our new exhibition is about life in the South Hams during World War II as American troops evacuated whole villages – including Slapton and Blackawton – to enable them to partake in D-Day preparations. In the Lorenz Room.

EXHIBITION – ON THE ROCKS

The exciting and interesting photographic exhibition on local shipwrecks, fishermen, salty sea-dogs, the coast and the dangers that lurk there, lifeboats and the men who rescued imperilled sailors and travellers – ‘On The Rocks’ – is on display in the Duncombe Room. Come and see it!

A FREE trail to find historic ‘treasures’ (provided by the Museum) hidden in shop windows throughout the town. 30 March – 13 April.

TALK ON LAND GIRLS – 20 APRIL

An exciting talk about our new exhibition ‘Six Weeks To Go’ by Becks Pearson on Saturday 20 April at Dodbrooke Parish Hall. 6.30 – 9.00pm.

MUSEUM TEA PARTY – 8 MAY

A special tea party to celebrate 80 years since WW2 (and on VE day itself). Come to meet the Mayor of Kingsbridge and enjoy a slice of home-made cake. Details to follow.

FAMILY DAY – 30 MAY

Come and explore the Museum! Children’s activities, craft demonstrations and refreshments. FREE entry for children and only £1.00 for adults.

KATIE HARRIS MUSIC – 22 JUNE

Katie Harris is a multi-tasking, piano, dulcimer and accordion player. She’s a singer and story-weaver with a fast-growing reputation in the UK Folk world. Her sound has been described as ‘earthy, spine tingling English Folk’.

KINGSBRIDGE SHOW – 7 SEPTEMBER

We will be appearing at this year’s Kingsbridge Show with a display of interesting exhibits linked to our current exhibitions – in the Country Scene tent. Come and see us there!

FIENDISH QUIZ & PASTY SUPPER – DATE TBC

A fun evening with a challenging walkabout quiz. Tickets are £12.50 each, which includes quiz, pasty (veggie option available) and your first drink. Max. team size 6. Tickets must be purchased in advance from the Museum.

KINGSBRIDGE CELEBRATES CHRISTMAS – 7 DECEMBER

The Museum will be open from 10.00am. Get into the Christmas spirit and come along to do some last-minute shopping for your Christmas stocking, for your family or for something for under the tree! FREE ENTRY to all.
